Holly Springs, NC

Design and construction services provided for large-scale cell culture manufacturing of bulk drug substance production facility and related commercial functions such as product packaging. This $2B+ capital investment results in a 150-acre campus with 800k+ SF in the initial built-out phase over seven buildings. It will be the largest cell culture contract development and manufacturing facility in North America.

Responsibilities Lead Architect for the Headblock, which supports the Drug Substance Manufacturing buildings – the beating heart of the project. This building includes administrative spaces as well as shared support functions such as vertical circulation, core elements, shops, and lockering and connects the DSM buildings to the Spine that runs through the campus. In addition to this role, also carried discipline-wide functions including code research, standards development/enhancement, documentation consistency efforts, and a champion of arguing for best-practice solutions across workstreams

Denver, CO

Design of a complete gut and renovation for the front-of-house toilet rooms for all three concourses of DEN, making this a high profile project with big impact at one of the world’s busiest airports. The project significantly updates dated facilites by bringing high design meshed with a functional approach.

Responsibilities Supported the team during the intense documentation phase by exercising the role of a project architect, as a project that exemplifies bridging the gap between architecture and interiors for a successful, cohesive approach.

Nationwide, USA

Program, planning, and design for outpatient facilities for a fast growing client on a nationwide scale, with projects currently focused in Colorado, Arizona, and Tennessee. Project program varies to be a clinic or an ambulatory care facility with operating rooms, or both.

Responsibilities Project Architect and general leadership role responsible for various design elements from code evaluation and requirement implementation, to documentation, to client/consulation coordination. Was leading an internal standards package to roll out for these fast-paced, technical projects.

Philadelphia, PA - 50,000 SF Total

Design services for a new headquarters to utilize the 10th and partial 11th floors of One Commerce Square in Center City Philadelphia. Design focus was on a front-of-house conferencing center with a large digital display and double-height lobby with convenience stair with an overlooking cafe.

Responsibilities Project Architect responsible for schematic design through construction administration; design, graphics, and coordination.

Facebook Reality Labs, Office and Research Facility Relocation and Expansion

Pittsburgh, PA - 100,000 SF Total

Fitout of a new 4 story development in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. FRL (previously Oculus), is the sole tenent of this project that includes a mixture of office, workshop, and lab/research spaces. Designed out of Gensler’s San Francisco office.

Responsibilities Acting “local” liason for Gensler to perform construction administration, including weekly on-site observations, OAC meetings, site walkthroughs, and coordination. Embedded within the team since DD phase with meeting documentation reviews; major role beginning in CA.

GlaskoSmithKline, Upper Merion East Campus ADA Report

King of Prussia, PA - Select Campus Scope

The final of a series of reports commissioned by GSK to review accessibility and user experience surveys as they relate to compliance and best practices. This last report included selected scope from six buildings and their related exterior areas.

Responsibilities Performed the entirety of the comprehensive site survey, code and accessibility research, and report development for final submission.

An office fitout of Spencer Stuart’s Philadelphia office relocation to One Logan Square. It is a mixture of enclosed and open office spaces, with the main focus on a multifunction cafe space and the board room.

Responsibilities Local contact for Gensler’s Chicago office to participate in on-site OAC meetings, observations, and punchlisting.

Entercom Communications, Headquarters

Philadelphia, PA - 67,000 SF Total

High-profile relocation for the media giant from Bala Cynwyd to Center City Philadelphia. Located in the recently completed Aramark Building (also designed by Gensler), the project includes a number of specialized spaces, including a performance zone, studios, and editing booths. The project also has a large cafe, high-end c-suite zone, and open office throughout. Recipient of a 2020 IIDAMAC Award.

Responsibilities Integral support staff responsible for the design, graphics, and documentation of project during the design development phase. Influenced a number of elements including the performance area, cafe, and executive areas.

The Vanguard Group, John C. Bogle Building Renovation

Malvern, PA - 118,000 SF Total - Canceled

A renovation of Vanguard’s “front door” building - a place where every new employee at their main campus is trained. It is a large two-story training facility where, in addition to refreshing the design, we incorporated a new monumental stair, cafe spaces, and new large multifunction training room.

Responsibilities Project Architect responsible for the design, graphics, documentation, and coordination of project from conceptual design through construction documents.

Morgan Stanley, Office Renovations

Conshohocken, Pennsylvania

Design services for a local office of the financial services giant, with highly selective scope. Primary challenges includes the client's need to move a training space from the first floor of the building to the tenth floor. This floor already included assembly space and required intense study to understand a solution.

Responsibilities Project Architect during initial phases of the project to survey and build initial model and study/present the code implications of the desired goal of the client. Completed documentation with interior designer prior to transitioning to other roles.

Jacobs has been hired to provided program and construction services for DuPont’s Wilmington campus, with a number of buildings receiving various degrees of work in scope across the campus including lab planning, architectural and engineering services, and construction. 

Responsibilities Have contributed towards design and documentation for four buildings to date, including a significant amount of coordination with our engineers, interior designers, contractors, and client. Recently was selected to take on the role of project architect on Building 323.

As a high-rise developer lab building, Jacobs was selected to provide fit out services for a multi-story lab building in South San Francisco.

Responsibilities In addition to Revit troubleshooting and short-term help to the project, independently researched the code for the life safety and code analysis sheets.

Selective lab renovation and design work over multiple floors, focusing heavily on casework placement and rework of a pilot plant area relating to shipping/receiving and hazardous storage.

Responsibilities Core design team member responsible for the documentation, client interface, and coordination for two of the three floors, in addition to the Pilot Plant. Developed specific Revit families and workflow for this unique documentation problem.

Design of the 1810 Liacouras Walk Renovations for the Fox School of Business & Management on their main Philadelphia campus. The project scope includes full A/E/I services for comprehensive interior renovations of the historic 1810 Liacouras Hall, as well as 100,000 SF of exterior recladding of the adjacent Speakman Hall, as well as building additions and bridge to link other buildings.

Responsibilities Aided in several essential tasks including conceptual design development and rendering, as well as creating diagrams used for presentations to the client as well as the historic district committee.

Design services for new, Class A spec office buildings, with the intent to have a new, fresh design aesthetic to help distinguish the campus from more traditional suburban office parks.

- Building 805 — 140,000 SF

- Building 815 — 56,000 SF

Responsibilities While I was the lead conceptual designer on 815, my role as the primary documentation and coordination team member on the 805 project, bringing the design intent to a set of construction documents, and in essence kickstarted experience as a project architect.

Large mixed-use master plan at the east end of the University of Louisville’s main campus to include a Corporate Headquarters Office Building, 300+ room Hotel, Conferencing Center, Innovation Center, Visitor Center, and Convocation Center.

Responsibilities Conceptual development lead of various schemes followed by 3D model development and refinement to a moderate-high level of detail for final rendering and presentations.

New lab and storage facility for examining earth cores to support the company’s exploration and development operations. A consolidation of several existing buildings.

Responsibilities The design and development of four detailed conceptual designs adhering to strict programmatic guidelines, including architectural plan layouts, massing, renderings, and exterior expression, including presenting to the client.

Huawei, Global Cloud Data Center Competition

Guiyang, China - 205 Acres

High level conceptual design study competition for a large data center master plan in the Gui’an New District. Primary goal of the project was to “create a beautiful, classical, diverse and historical campus which will last hundreds of years,” with a focus on the buildings’ relationship with nature.

Responsibilities Conceptual masterplan design brainstorming, development, and production. Significant development planning and design of one of the three final submitted designs.

Responsibilities Conceptual design development of plans and exterior massing/expression for use in the DBSP (Design Basis Scoping Paper), including a multi-week trip to Jacobs’ Al-Khobar office and the project sites. Continued through conceptual design development and client presentations upon return.

Design services from conceptual design to construction documentation for a new R&D Center at the King Abdullah University for Science and Technology

Responsibilities Conceptual design and blocking-and-stacking development of options during the early phase of the project, including lab data cards. During Schematic Design, progressed drawing set in all aspects of architectural development. During Design Development and construction documentation, focused on all aspects of envelope design, including design decisions, details, studies, take-offs, and material exploration. Played significant role in leading Revit coordination among the architecture team and coordination with BIM.

A/E design for a new 20-story mixed-use tower consisting of residential units, retail storefront, and community center with classrooms, exhibit space, and basketball courts.

Responsibilities Documentation of exterior design and details during the construction document phase, primarily on the tower. Details include that of a window wall system, pre-cast concrete panel, and green roof. Design resolution decisions in regards to respect to design concept.

A comprehensive campus plan for a private secondary school. Primary goals for the master plan included the reorientation of the main campus entrance to the north, creation of a dynamic and prominent entry to the main academic and administrative building, bringing all faculty housing to campus, a new Student Center, and the creation of a singular consolidated Arts Center.

Responsibilities In charge of masterplan CAD file and rendered plan production of existing and proposed options. Further, lead extensive surveying of existing buildings, developed schemes for the updates and additions to the existing student/faculty housing, the Arts Center, and Student Center.

A new office and classroom building to house undergraduate and graduate departments located in a campus characterized by gothic architecture. A traditional façade is fused with a contemporary interior that represents the balance of tradition and looking forward in innovation. LEED Gold Certified.

Responsibilities Exterior design and documentation, with a focus on exterior wall construction and development of brick and limestone details as well as curtain wall design. Additionally, a sole creator of a high-quality presentation model – out of wood and acrylic – for fundraising purposes.

Bryn Mawr Film Institute, Phase III - Theater Addition & Renovation

Restoration and addition to an historic single-screen theater after a successful campaign to save the cinema from conversion to a fitness club. Phase three involved refurbishing the two existing theaters, constructing an addition, and installing full digital projection systems.

Responsibilities Extensive surveying of existing conditions of all buildings on campus, and updating plans to reflect accurate egress conditions and verifying them with code.

Jefferson University, Storefront and Marquee

Jefferson Hospital was moving some administrative offices to an historic building on Chestnut Street, with a frontage including an old marquee. The goal was to replace the storefront with new materials and restore the existing marquee.

Responsilbities Performed significant survey work on the marquee and its interaction with the existing building facade. My role on this project focused on the initial stages, with CAD production of existing and proposed design, as well as product research.

Competition for a new large-scale housing project for Rowan University, composed of multiple buildings with a quad-style courtyard.

Responsibilities Utilization of sketchup and mapping composites overlayed on watercolor plan sketches for a quick series of massing and layout studies.

Villanova, Pennsylvania

Massive housing development, in conjunction with RAMSA, of 1,100+ beds designed over several buildings along the historic avenue to match the traditional design of the university. This is part of a larger campus planning effort that includes a bridge over Lancaster Avenue, a performing arts center, and parking garage.

Responsibilities While I performed minor tasks during this project including basic documentation efforts for the garage and PAC, my significant contributions were for a my code/zoning studies for the township in regards to building heights across this complex collection of buidings.

A large scale master planning competition for an emerging innovation district in Midtown Detroit. With the district currently characterized by surface parking, vacant properties, and disjoined hubs of activity, the criteria was to leverage key institutional anchors within the neighborhoods to create an environment that fosters knowledge and innovation.

Responsibilities Contributions include conceptual design brainstorming, analysis of site and surrounding neighborhoods, and diagram production.

New academic building that completes the Upper Campus quadrangle, and includes an intimate performance and conference venue, visual and performing arts classrooms, studios, and rehearsal spaces, student common areas, and a new dining facility.

Responsibilities Conceptual and Schematic Design studies and production, notably the campus site plan.

Mann Center for the Performing Arts, Site Improvements

The lawn and promenade renovations were part of a second phase of capital improvements aimed at enhancing the patron experience at the terrace and lawn seating areas, top of hill promenade and throughout the facility with sound and visual upgrades.

Responsibilities CAD design work on the lawn and promenade, with updates to the rendered site plan. In addition to significant work on a Tax Credit Document, contributed to fundraising campaign materials in the form of large-format poster designs displayed on site as well as a comprehensive campaign booklet and digital presentations.

Case Western Reserve University, The Milton & Tamar Maltz Performing Arts Center

Cleveland, OH - 150,000 SF - Currently Under Construction

A nationally registered historic synagogue is repurposed as a new multi-disciplinary performing arts center. This project established a collaborative and technologically advanced home for the music, theater and dance departments, adding student and academic spaces along with four significant performance venues: 1200-seat concert hall, 100-seat recital hall, 350-seat proscenium theater and 100-seat studio theater.

Responsibilities Schematic design development contributions include material studies, Revit project setup, site modeling, and advanced mass modeling (historic building forms, including an intricate seven-sided dome). Design development contributions

International Spy Museum, Redevelopment of Carnegie Library at Mount Vernon Square

Washington, DC - Malrite Corporation Events DC - Unbuilt

Relocation of the International Spy Museum to the Carnegie Library at Mount Vernon Square incorporating retail space and new quarters for the Historical Society of Washington, DC.  A 40,000-SF underground addition houses the Spy Museum exhibition, education and support spaces while a glass pavilion located on the north side of the historic building provides space for a museum shop, cafe and DC Visitor Center.

Responsibilities Initial site visit and surveys, in addition to presentation materials and design work during conceptual design.

Transformation of an abandoned industrial site into a Community Center that serves 1,000 people daily. Facilities include recreation and fitness facilities, an aquatics center, an early childhood education center, cafe and worship and performing arts spaces.

Updates and repairs throughout a seven-story dormitory, including a complete renovation of a new faculty apartment.

Responsibilities Survey and CAD drawing of existing conditions, used to develop construction drawing set. Design and material selection input for new faculty apartment. Completed CA punch listing through end of project.
